Matt Wolf has been Variety's London theater critic and columnist since Oct., 1992, when his first review happened to be of Stephen Daldry's groundbreaking production of "An Inspector Calls." A Yale graduate who grew up in New York, Wolf moved to London late in 1983 and began a busy and prolific journalism career that included 20 years as UK arts correspondent for the Associated Press. Now, he is London theater critic for The International Herald Tribune and a regular contributor to The Times and Sunday Times of London, the New York Times, London's Observer newspaper, and The Economist. He is a regular broadcaster for the BBC and recently published his second book, "Sam Mendes At the Donmar Warehouse: Stepping Into Freedom." In his spare time, he ... Spare time? No way!
