Writers Guild of America East will give its Evelyn F. Burkey Award to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
Back to topThe New York-based nonprofit org, founded in 1981, is devoted to protecting the rights of journalists through legal support and by calling attention to violations of press freedoms.
CPJ board chairman Paul Steiger and exec director Joel Simon will accept the Burkey laurel Saturday at the 61st annual WGA East Awards ceremony at Gotham’s Hudson Theater.
