Ruby Dee will receive the NAACP Chairman's Award at the org's 39th annual Image Awards on Feb. 14.
Back to topDee, who is also nominated for the NAACP's supporting actress award, as well as the supporting actress Oscar for her role in "American Gangster," was chosen for the special kudo recognizing her long career as an actress and activist.
Thesp will join two other special award recipients at this year's kudocast on Fox. Aretha Franklin will receive the org's Vanguard award, while Stevie Wonder will be feted with the Hall of Fame award.
