Eco No-Nos

While it seems unfair to criticize the well-intentioned, sometimes eco-evangelism can become downright irritating. Prius-driver snobbery and the craze for Anya Hindmarch’s “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” bags have sparked backlashes even among the faithful.

What’s the most irritating environmental product you’ve seen?

To create cloth fiber for bamboo clothes uses enough chemicals to counter-act any good it may do.

Also.. what's with Ralph's selling reusable bags but still keeping plastic? Pick a way!

Your statement:
Much more polution is created from the production of the batteries(not true) And they better not forget to replace them at 100k miles. (also not true)
see below:

These are the true facts for the Toyota NIMH batteries... Batteries last over 500,000 miles (report from Taxi's in New York). Batteries are repurchased by Toyota (mandatory) for $200 reward AND REMANUFACTURED. Batteries are made from 100% recyclable products, including the Nickel.

Those "please consider the environment before printing this email" tags at the end of emails. What makes you think your email was important enough to print, anyway?

What planet do prius drivers think they live on. Where do they think the batteries come from? Much more polution is created from the production of the batteries powering the ugliest car of all time. And they better not forget to replace them at 100k miles. I wonder what they will do with all those toxic batteries. The best environmental practice is to centralizing your life. If "environmentalists" such as Mr. Guillod were to move to century city and walk then he could really pitch in. It's a start; unfortunately the majority will not change unless required. Thanks for your efforts.

I think its' the non-Prius drivers who are the real snobs. What's so snobby about a Prius? It's trendy, yes, but so are Escalades and Hummers. What's the problem?>
