Pondering the destruction of the planet can often leave one in a foul mood, so Blighty-based GreenDrinks.org offers a respite: environmentalist drinking sessions in local bars. The org boasts chapters in 241 cities, including an Angeleno incarnation that rotates  weekly between Culver City, Hermosa Beach, Studio City and Silver Lake locations.

    Sierra Nevada uses fuel-cells in their brewery, and they're local enough for the west coast. I think the beer tastes sorta like a pine tree air freshener, but that's just me.

    I would think it would be hard for bars themselves to be green, with everything imported and all those bottles.
