This session has been designed with debt and equity financiers in mind. Understand and learn how the lifecycle of a film works; how to structure a movie deal; how to identify high-risk factors and potential problems; completion bonds and broad insurance coverage; lending against films; and how to find the right projects to finance. Additionally, this panel will explore opportunities within this sector beyond financing films, such investing in production and/or distribution companies, post-production or special effects houses, and movie theaters.

Co-productions are increasingly playing a bigger role in the development of new projects. It has become a crucial strategy for financing films, minimizing cost, and attaining worldwide distribution. This group of film commissioners, producers and film funds will discuss ways to identify the right partners when considering this model; structures for profit participation; strategies for monetizing tax incentives/subsidies across borders; and present examples of successful international co-productions.
