Margaret Mead pick - "Sleepwalking Through the Mekong"

Among the doc-centered Margaret Mead Film and Video Festival lineup, John Pirozzi's doc on LA band Dengue Fever's tour through Cambodia will open the event at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.  Pirozzi has been shooting music docs for years - "Speed Racer: Welcome to the World of Vic Chesnutt," "Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man," and the upcoming "Bling: A Planet Rock" about hip-hop's role in the Sierra Leone civil war.

Dengue Fever, featured on the fantastic soundtrack for "City of Ghosts," (which Pirozzi's worked on) has an avid LA following for their haunting, Asian-infused songs.

Closing the fest - "Nömadak Tx," by Raul de la Fuente, following two "Basque musicians as they visit nomadic cultures around the world."
