Florida's new exec director
Florida film fest has picked Shanon Larimer as its new exec director, announced by president Sigrid Tiedtke. “With his background in the hospitality industry, marketing, events and public relations, Larimer can work across many different disciplines to help us efficiently and effectively execute upon our strategy.”
Held in near Orlando, the land of worlds (Disney World, Gator World, Urinal Cake World), it’s fitting that Larimer comes from Busch Entertainment Corp’s theme park division, which includes Sea World, Discovery Cove, and Aquatica. Prior to Busch, Larimer helped market the Mall of Millenia and Disney Fairytale Weddings. He knows his manufactured worlds.
Our advice to the new exec director: we’d stay away from Art Film Land –a sad, depressing place. Mumblecore Mountain? Kieslowski Retro Ride of Sorrow? This is That Castle (where Nothing is Private)? Killer Film Kiddieland?
