Mountainfilm gives gold to "Red Gold"

Telluride's Mountainfilm announced its awards, with Ben Knight and Travis Rummel's doc "Red Gold" getting both best director and the audience award.  This year, Mountainfilm was themed around water and the social/environmental issues surrounding it.  "Red Gold" is about how a fishery is threatened by mining interests.  Fish swim in water.  So it fits.

Also, a group of teenagers chose to give the Aspiring Filmmakers' Award to Sascha Paladino's fantastic "Throw Down Your Heart."  It's about music virtuoso Bela Fleck bringing the banjo to Africa.  We were confused on how it fit, until we found this pic of Bela standing in water.

All clear now.
