SXSW announces Moby and Nelson
The slow leak of goodies from SXSW Film started today with the announcement of two speakers. Moby will be there to discuss composing and licensing for film. He’ll also talk about “moby gratis,” his plan to offer his music for free to indie filmmakers. Number two is docmaker Stanley Nelson (“Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple” and “The Murder of Emmett Till”) who will talk about his work and process. SX has always been strong with docs. In that spirit they announced “Global Doc Days,” a program that will give time-slots to international film orgs to showcase their nation’s nonfiction work.

Michael Jones is the film festival editor at Variety.com.
