Sarajevo opens with its own

Reuters has an interesting story of "Snow."  Aida Begic's post-war pic preemed at Cannes, but was part of Sarajevo's talent program.  Now the film comes full circle, screening at Sarajevo Film Festival.

"I think this is the festival's most significant strategic accomplishment this year - to enter the production process," SFF director Mirsad Purivatra told Reuters, adding that the SFF planned to support the production of one feature next year, along with short films.

Nick Holdsworth, Variety's man at the fest, also reports on the event's opening day today.  The fest has installed a giant TV outside the main venue for the public:
The decision to pilot festival television comes at a time of growing stature for Sarajevo where, in addition to a feature competition that concentrates on Balkans and wider region films, the festival screens major international projects, hosts a talent campus in association with the Berlin film festival and has a busy co-production market.
