Sundance: A discovery in "Ballast"

The cast and crew from "Ballast" after their screening today. Variety's Robert Koehler sent us this report:
I heard no buyer interest, but heard a couple of US festivals talking to producers. I think distribs will be the last humans in Sundance to sign on to this film, while top festivals everywhere are going to fall all over themselves to show it (I predict now that this will be a major awards contender in Berlin).Read Koehler's review here.
Celluloid Dreams will sell it in several territories; the US will probably be one of the last to convince. There's no commercial hook, except what will be over-the-moon rave reviews. Yet I'm certain that if they have a chance to see it, audiences will really like it.
It'll be extremely interesting to watch--it's certainly the top discovery of the festival so far.
