Advice for Sundance: have no expectations
While one buyer told Dade Hayes "this Sundance could definitely see some astronomical spending," Micah Green at CAA warns filmmakers not to get too caught up in the frenzy:
They should have no expectations. The worst thing to do is to think of Sundance as a marketplace. The best thing they can do is to focus on all but the sale. Make sure the screenings are great. Make sure you get people there. Do a ton of press.
It's the entire Sundance experience that plays into it. Don't worry about the sale. If we're selling it, the film will sell at its market value.
