Sundance short filmmakers will be paid

Sundance announced their shorts, and though Trevor Groth said “the entire shorts program represents a higher level of filmmaking craft than ever before,” the news is also in the venues.  Sundance will keep streaming short films online, free at www.sundance.org/festival. Every day one new short film will premiere online for 24 hours.

After that, shorts will be available for purchase on iTunes, Xbox LIVE, and Netflix.

And the good news is the filmmakers get most of the money.  More coming on that...

In the meantime, indieWIRE’s got the shorts lineup here.
