"Chop Shop" steps up

Roger Ebert's huge rave today for Ramin Bahrani's "Chop Shop" has brought it forward.
Now we have an American film with the raw power of "City of God" or "Pixote," a film that does something unexpected, and inspired, and brave...
Bahrani (pictured) and producer Jeb Brody were surprised and moved to read it this morning.  And you can bet Cinetic has made sure buyers had a copy of it with their morning coffee.  Bahrani, however, doesn't have time to watch what happens.  He's on a plane to prep shooting for his next film, "Solo," about a cabbie that tries to change the mind of a man bent on committing suicide.  This is That's Ted Hope and Anne Carrey are producing.
