Toronto | SPC gets "Paris 36"

Sony Pictures Classics has nabbed U.S, Australasian, and Scandinavia rights to Christophe Barratier's "Paris 36," from Pathe International.

Set in 1930's France, pic follows a group of stage worker who take over theater staging their own production.  SPC's Michael Barker described it as "one of those amazing populist movies no one seems to make anymore: a big, boisterous, moving 1930's music hall movie."

Produced by Jacques Perrin and Nicolas Mauvernay, "Paris 36" premiered at the Montreal Film Festival and will unspool as a Special Screening at Toronto.

Comments

I'm surprise that "Paris 36" can be shown in both Montreal Film Festival and Toronto Film Festival.
