Fest Bits | Their first time
The first LA Irish Film Festival will open with Declan Recks' "Eden," produced by "Once" exec-producer David Collins. Other Irish films include Cathal Black's docu "Learning Gravity" about the poet/undertaker Thomas Lynch, and Irvin Kershner's "The Luck of Ginger Coffey," (pcitured) starring Robert Shaw. The first US Sports Film Fest will unspool in Philly, October 23-26. Lest you think your film will not qualify, check their website which lists their top 100 sport films, including "Gladiator," "Love Bug," and "Heaven Can Wait."
And the first Drive-In Film Festival will roll into New Jersey this weekend, showing a Lisa Kudrow-starrer, "Kabluey." From there the fest screens in a studio in New York and a restaurant in Pennsylvania. Go figure.

Thanks Michael, for mentioning our festival, The DRIVE-IN Film Festival. We also screened at the last, and now sadly, dark Drive-In, in Delaware, The Diamond State Drive-In. It was a great screening, but a sad occasion. It does figure we are screening at Studio 353 this weekend, and at Maggio's in Philadelphia at the end of September, because unfortunately, the Drive-in's can't really do digital projection yet, and we wanted to give our Showcase Digital selections some screen time as well, even if it's indoors. I love your blog, and thank you again for including us!
