Cannes | Penn pushes doc

Sean Penn is doing double-duty in Cannes.  While doing his time on jury duty, he is also pushing Alison Thompson's doc "The Third Wave."  The doc captures three volunteers who race to a Sri Lankan village after the tsunami left more than 2500 dead. They find they're suddenly in charge of a refugee camp for 3000, extending their planned 2-week stay into a year.

"The Third Wave is truly a must-see for ourselves, our children and everyone we know, for anyone who has two good legs and a dollar in their pocket," states Penn. "It inspires the very best in us, just when we need that most. It comes as close to answering our purpose in life as any film in recent memory."

Anne Thompson has more info here.
