Cannes | Thompson on Kaufman

Anne Thompson has a good column on Charlie Kaufman, who's bringing his directorial debut, "Synecdoche, New York," to Cannes.  Thompson says the film is among the top three "to buy" flicks on distribs' lists, though it seems you won't see much of Kaufman on the red carpet:
"It's the big photo shoots I'm trying to avoid," he says. "I don't like to draw attention to myself. You'll never see pictures of me pointing."
