Sacha Baron Cohen has been invited to become a member of the Academy. So here’s one way to revive those pathetic ratings for the Oscar show: Borat as host. Very Very Late Night, to be sure.
The 80 year old grandfather of Paris Hilton is at the top of the list of America’s fifty most generous charitable donors. William Barron Hilton clearly understands that a family has to “give back” to a culture that its heirs are not enhancing.
Here’s something new for the TMI (Too Much Information) category: The drug habits of various cities can now be computed by chemical tests of raw sewage. You bet, Las Vegas emerges as the champion of meth (five times higher than in, say, Omaha). LA’s major vice is -- what else -- cocaine. But here’s the surprise: Serene suburban Lancaster and Palmdale have the highest concentrations, not Malibu. Clearly we’ve all been looking in the wrong places for good parties.
