The Tony Awards will inaugurate the Isabelle Stevenson Award next year, with the nod going to a member of the legit community with a notable track record as a volunteer for humanitarian, social service or charity orgs not necessarily tied to theater.

Honor is named after the late Stevenson, who served 33 years as the unpaid prexy of the American Theater Wing, which presents the Tonys along with the Broadway League. Stevenson, a former dancer who died in 2003, also did a stint as board chair of the wing.

Stevenson Award will be given to a single individual and will not necessarily be handed out every year. First winner will be selected by the Tony Award Administration Committee in May.

Tony ceremony is set for June 7.
