Noms were unveiled on Wednesday morning's edition of CBS' "The Early Show." CBS' "Guiding Light" drew the most noms with 17, including drama series, lead actor and two lead actress mentions.
Two other CBS soaps, "As the World Turns" and "The Young and the Restless," took second and third place, garnering 16 and 12 noms, respec-tively. PBS' "Sesame Street" and the syndicated "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" also drew 12 mentions.
"Ellen" was the most-nominated talker, followed by ABC's "The View," which tallied 10.
Both yakkers nabbed a top talkshow nom, going head-to-head with syndicated skeins "Dr. Phil," "The Tyra Banks Show" and newcomer "Rachael Ray."
The stars of those five also grabbed a nomination in the talkshow host category, along with Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway of Soapnet's "Soap Talk."
"Live With Regis and Kelly," nominated last year for both talkshow and talk host, was not included in either category; skein has been entered into the new morning program category, noms for which will be announced in mid-April.
(Oprah Winfrey removed herself and her show from talkshow and host contention a few years ago.)
"The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful" co-creator Lee Phillip Bell and her late husband William J. Bell will receive the lifetime achievement nod.
Daytime Emmys, to be presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, will air live June 15 from Hollywood's Kodak Theater.
