Kline and Ryan game for 'Match'

Kevin Kline has been set to star opposite Meg Ryan in "Paris Match," a$ 20 million chaotic romantic comedy that will have the two stars sprinting around France in search of an unfaithful fiance.

The film, to be directed by Lawrence Kasdan, will be jointly produced by Ryan and her producing partner, Kathryn Galan, and Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.

It will be a Fandango Films and Working Title production.

The project, written by Adam Brooks, is based on a story by Bevan, sources report. It features Ryan as a somewhat meticulous woman whose fiance goes on a business trip to Paris only to meet and fall madly in love with a Parisian.

Ryan goes in pursuit to win him back, and, in the process, gets paired up with a loud, boorish Frenchman, played by Kline.

Kline settled his deal late last week.

The film will be shot in France and financed by Polygram Filmed Entertainment. It's due to begin production Sept. 15.

Sources say a domestic distribution deal is close to being signed. Foreign distribution will be handled by Polygram Film International.

This marks the second producing deal for Ryan within a week, as she and her company have just set up a deal with Julia Roberts and her YMA Productions to co-produce and develop a remake of "The Women" for New Line.

Ryan, meanwhile, stars opposite Andy Garcia in Buena Vista's "When a Man Loves a Woman," which opens Friday. She currently is at work on the Paramount comedy "I.Q." opposite Tim Robbins and Walter Matthau.
