Hasselhoff dives into deal with All American

David Hasselhoff, the star of "Baywatch," has inked a multiyear, multiproject deal with All American TV to continue to star in the hit show beyond the 1995-96 season and to develop another drama series.

The new one-hour weekly action drama will star Hasselhoff, who also will executive produce.

All American will produce and distribute the series both domestically and internationally.

Hasselhoff, one of the most popular U.S. stars in Europe, told an overflow press conference at Mip Saturday that the new serieswould have action and romance and that some 50 potential storylines were being looked at. It was also reckoned that the new series would include a bevy of beauties, much in the style of "Baywatch."

The deal with Hasselhoff was announced by Henry Siegel, president of All American TV, who said "Baywatch" is "perhaps the most valuable television franchise of our time." He added that the price per episode of the new series would be similar to the cost of "Baywatch," approximately $ 1.5 million per seg.

Siegel said that All American/LBS Intl. has obtained the worldwide distribution rights to the pay-per-view special "David Hasselhoff & His Friends, Live," a concert event to be seen in the U.S. June 17.
