A senior 20th Century Fox exec confirmed to Daily Variety Friday that Chisholm would be based on the Fox lot.
There has been rampant speculation in L.A and Sydney that Murdoch had earmarked a new, top-level corporate slot for Chisholm, the combative Kiwi who's credited with turning Britain's BSkyB satellite broadcaster into a rich cash-producing operation.
However, another Fox source said it's "absolutely untrue" that Chisholm will get an elevated role above Fox Broadcasting chairman Lucie Salhany, and noted that Chisholm is busy with existing duties, including the money-losing Hong Kong-based Star TV satcaster.
The Fox exec said Chisholm's L.A. move is indicative of Murdoch's desire to have all his senior people under one roof.
Murdoch labeled Chisholm last year as "the best TV executive in the world" and recently rewarded him with a seat on the News Corp. board.
