Boss Film's int'l 'Journey'
It's the first time a studio has made its software available to multiple hardware manufacturers.
Boss Film said that it had entered into a joint-venture distribution agreement with Lucky-Goldstar Intl. Inc., the company for which Boss Film produced the original version of the ride film.
Written and produced at Boss Film at a cost of $ 3.8 million, "Journey to Technopia" was first seen at the Lucky-Goldstar Pavilion at World Expo '93 in Korea.
Because the ride-film's original pre-show was in Korean, Boss Film president Richard Edlund said that his company will produce a pre-show that will be able to be shown internationally, while the ride-film portion of the show will remain the same.
According to Edlund, the production will be shot in English and will be able to accommodate all motion-based hardware systems.
