Castle Rock ups Stott to senior veep

Castle Rock Entertainment, gearing up for a production upgrade under new boss Turner Broadcasting, has upped Jeffrey Stott to senior vice president for production management.

Stott, a former vice president, will continue to supervise all aspects of production and post-production for the Rock's feature and TV projects.

Stott co-produced "The Princess Bride,""When Harry Met Sally ...,""Misery" and "A Few Good Men" and is executive producer for Rob Reiner's new picture "North," starring Bruce Willis, Kathy Bates, Jon Lovitz and Elijah Wood and skedded for a summer release.

"Jeff is a unique executive with proven abilities in the film, television production and post-production areas," said Gregory M. Paul, executive vice president for Castle Rock Entertainment.

"This expertise will continue to benefit the company as we step up production as a result of the recent acquisition by Turner Broadcasting Systems Inc."

Castle Rock is expected to increase its 1994 slate to seven or eight pix under Turner.
