"Jurassic Park" and "The Firm" were also finalists in the movie drama category, joined by "The Fugitive," while "Doubtfire" lit up the comedy voting along with "Cool Runnings" and "Wayne's World 2."
TV's three highest-rated comedies --"Home Improvement,""Roseanne" and "Seinfeld"-- topped balloting in that field, while newcomer "NYPD Blue" joins CBS' "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" and "Picket Fences" on the drama side.
Each of the Big Three landed candidates for favorite new comedy -- CBS' "Dave's World," NBC's "Frasier" and ABC's "Grace Under Fire"-- as well as drama, where the nominees are ABC's "NYPD Blue," NBC's "seaQuest DSV" and CBS' "Second Chances."
Alphabet web programs and performers totaled 10 nominations, followed by six for CBS, NBC's five and a pair to Fox Broadcasting Co.
Awards will be presented in 18 categories and broadcast March 8 on CBS, with Paul Reiser as host. A list of nominees follows: Motion picture: "Jurassic Park, ""Mrs. Doubtfire,""The Firm."
