Trimark earnings climb for quarter

Second-quarter revenues and earnings more than doubled at Trimark Holdings Inc. as the company boosted both the quantity and commercial quality of its homevid releases.

During the quarter, Trimark video releases included "Warlock 2: The Armageddon," the Julian Sands-starrer; Andrew Dice Clay's "Brain Smasher"; "Point of Impact," toplining Michael Pare; and Stephen King's "Tommyknockers."

For its second quarter, Trimark earned $ 950,000 (21 cents), compared to $ 256,000 (6 cents) in the like period a year ago. Revenue was $ 29 million, up from $ 12.1 million.

For its first six months, the company earned $ 1.8 million(39 cents ), compared to $ 501,000 (11 cents) in the first half of the prior fiscal year. Revenue was $ 41.5 million, up from $ 22.2 million.

Trimark is currently in production on a number of films, including "Leprechaun 2"; "Frank & Jesse," toplining Rob Lowe; and "Curse of the Starving Class," starring Kathy Bates, James Woods, Lou Gossett Jr. and Randy Quaid.
