Oscar faves make the cut for film/TV editor noms
"The Fugitive," which needed a team of film-dicers because its release date was moved up, drew nods for Dennis Virkler, Don Brochu, Dean Goodhill, Richard Nord, David Finfer and Dov Hoenig.
"In the Line of Fire," edited by Anne V. Coates, and "In the Name of the Father," cut by Gerry Hambling, rounded out the best edited film category for the 44th annual ACE Eddie Awards, which will be given out March 12 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Helmer Martin Scorsese, whose "The Age of Innocence" was absent from the nominees lists, will get an honorary ACE Golden Eddie award for "distinguished contributions to the art and craft of film." Clint Eastwood, Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are the most recent winners of the career accolade.
