Film editors org honors Scorsese

Martin Scorsese will be given a Golden Eddie award by the American Cinema Editors at a gala dinner March 12 for his contribution to the art and craft of film over the course of his career.

Scorsese will join Clint Eastwood, Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, among others, as a recipient of the award, which will be presented at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel as part of the ACE Eddie Awards program.

The event will honor editors nominated in 1993 for feature pix, episodic TV, miniseries, specials, docus and student projects.

Scorsese will also become an honorary member of the American Cinema Editors at the ceremony.
