CD feel me, touch me, heal me

Already a major success in other formats, the Who's "Tommy" looks to be headed to the interactive multimedia arena.

RoundBook Publishing Group, an interactive multimedia publisher, has entered into an agreement with Kardana Prods., co-producer of the Broadway musical, "The Who's Tommy," and composer Pete Townshend to develop a multimedia CD-ROM project based on "Tommy."

Kardana and Townshend will become equity investors, and RoundBook president Greg Smith said Townshend will become a corporate adviser and consultant on a number of unannounced interactive projects for the company.

Compton's New Media, a provider of information, education and entertainment software in the CD-ROM industry, will distribute the "Tommy" CD-ROM to more than 5,000 retail outlets beginning in September. The title will be published initially for the Windows and Macintosh platforms.
