20th Century Fox pockets Maxwell's 'Stolen Moments'
The project will be set up as a director vehicle for "The Good Son" helmer/co-producer Joseph Ruben, who reportedly just re-upped his term deal at the studio.
Fox exec production VP Dylan Sellers was the studio point person on the deal.
Undisclosed
Details of the transaction were not disclosed, though sources pegged the sale at $ 250,000 against $ 500,000. The studio had no comment on what insiders said is among Sellers' first exec acquisitions on the job since coming aboard last May.
"Stolen" reportedly is a romantic caper in the tradition of "The Sting." No talent has been cast.
Sources said Maxwell will start additional work on the script immediately. The film likely will be done as a medium-to-big budget item with A-list talent.
Maxwell and Ruben are repped by United Talent Agency's David J. Kanter, who hammered out the script deal with Fox brass late last week.
Among Ruben's other credits are the shocker "The Stepfather," the urban legal drama "True Believer" and the Julia Roberts/Patrick Bergin drama "Sleeping With the Enemy."
Maxwell's previous screenwriting includes the voodoo thriller "The Serpent and the Rainbow."
