Ken Anderson

Ken Anderson, a Walt Disney Co. art director who worked on the studio's most famous animated films and helped design Disneyland, died Dec. 13 in La Canada Flintridge of a stroke. He was 84.

An associate of Walt Disney, Anderson worked at the studio for 44 years as an architect, artist, animator, writer and designer. He was a principal designer of Disneyland, the theme park that opened in Anaheim in 1955.

His other film credits include "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,""The Reluctant Dragon,""Song of the South,""101 Dalmatians,""Pinocchio" and "Fantasia."

He created the character Shere Kahn for the film "The Jungle Book" and was a color stylist for "Alice in Wonderland."

Anderson retired from Disney's feature animation in 1978, but continued to work with Walt Disney Imagineering.
