Madonna 'Rains' at vid awards

Madonna's video "Rain" topped the winner's list at the third annual Music Video Producer Assn. awards ceremony Saturday at trendy L.A. nightspot Tatou.

The creative forces behind "Rain" scored four MVPA plaques, including the director of the year award picked up by Mark Romanel and the cinematography nod to Harris Savides.

The vid also scored best art direction and best styling awards.

Graeme Joyce won the directorial debut trophy for Stone Temple Pilots' "Wicked Garden," while pop video honors went to Black Dog Films for its work on R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts."

The rap video prize went to production house Westside Stories for its effort on Arrested Development's "Mr. Wendal." The country vid nod went to Barking Dog Films for Hal Ketchem's hit "Mama Knows the Highway."

Longform vid nod went to FYI Films for "The Way We Walk" from Genesis, and Edouard Locke earned the best choreography honor for David Bowie's "Jump They Say."
