Hundt takes FCC helm

Reed Hundt will be sworn in as the new chairman of the Federal Communications Commission today by his old high school chum, Vice President Al Gore.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held in the Indian Treaty Room of the Old Executive Office Building next to the White House. Hundt, 45, will take the FCC reins from James Quello, who has served as interim chairman of the FCC since Al Sikes departed earlier this year.
