Christopher Roberts is the new president of Polygram Classics & Jazz, effective Jan. 1. Roberts, who replaces David Weyner, was VP of international marketing for Polygram Records.

Alice Peck is director of literary affairs at Laurel Entertainment, a new position. She'll be responsible for finding properties to develop as longform TV fare. Peck was director of development at the Polone Co.

Maggie Bellville has joined Century Communications Corp. as Southwest cable division VP, with responsibility for eight systems with 200,000 subscribers in Southern California.

Jeff DeRome has been upped to exec director, East Coast publicity, at Fox Broadcasting Co. He was director.

MCA Records/Nashville named Denise Roberts director of Northeast promotion, a new position. Roberts, formerly of L.A. radio stations KZLA, KLAC and KFAC, will be based in Baltimore.
