Lily Collins in talks for Fox 2000's 'Rosaline'

Would play Juliet in 'Romeo and Juliet' spinoff tale

Collins, who is in talks to star in Fox 2000's 'Rosaline,' can next be seen as Snow White in Relativity's 'Mirror Mirror.'

Lily Collins is in early talks to join Fox 2000 pic "Rosaline," a twist on the "Romeo and Juliet" story that's based on Rebecca Serle's debut novel "When You Were Mine."

Deborah Ann Woll and Dave Franco are in negotiations to star.

Michael Sucsy (HBO's "Grey Gardens") is directing from a script by Scott Neustader and Michael H. Weber, who previously wrote "(500) Days of Summer" for Fox Searchlight. Shawn Levy and Billy Rosenberg are producing through the former's 21 Laps banner.

In Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," Rosaline is the woman Romeo first claims to love from afar before he becomes enamored with Juliet. Sucsy's film finds Romeo's jilted ex-girlfriend Rosaline telling her side of the story. Collins would play the Juliet role.

There had been talk of Hailee Steinfeld starring, but that deal didn't work out.

If Collins' deal comes through, she would be landing another big lead following her first big starring role as Snow White in Relativity's "Mirror Mirror," set to bow on March 30. She was also most recently seen in Lionsgate's "Abduction." Collins is repped by CAA.
