'Lay the Favorite'
The Weinstein Co. is in active talks to acquire Stephen Frears' gambling dramedy "Lay the Favorite," though sources caution that an initial offer didn't pan out, no deal has closed and there are issues yet to work on.
"Lay the Favorite" stars Rebecca Hall, Bruce Willis, Vince Vaughn and Joshua Jackson. CAA is repping domestic rights on behalf of the filmmakers.
D.V. DeVincentis wrote the script, based on Beth Raymer's memoir. Scribe also produced with Anthony Bregman and Paul Trijbits, as well as Randall Emmett and George Furla.
