Although it's a sports pic on the surface, Nick Nolte says it was the family story that drew him to "Warrior."
"When I first read the script, what stuck out was this line of a family and trying to get (its) balance back," Nolte says of the pic that brought him a supporting actor bid.
"We all try to pretend that all families work perfectly but most don't. Most have dysfunctional elements and I think (director) Gavin (O'Connor) really captured that balance between regaining a family and a sports film."
