AFTRA's public voice Christopher de Haan is ankling from the performers union to join PR firm 42West.
De Haan has been the National Director of Communications for the past three years at the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
He disclosed his departure Monday and said his last day will be Dec. 16.
He indicated that AFTRA will tap his successor soon.
AFTRA has been working on merging with the Screen Actors Guild during his tenure with a member vote expected next spring.
De Haan joined AFTRA staff in 2001.
