Alcon Entertainment has gone hog wild, closing a deal with Canadian animation studio Arc Prods. to develop the latter's short "Ormie" into a feature film with Arc co-producing.

Deal was announced Thursday during the Toronto Film Festival.

Ormie -- a pig obsessed with cookies -- was created and directed by Arc's Rob Silvestri.

"Having worked with Alcon as a client has shown us their extraordinary expertise on both the business and creative sides," said Steven Hecht, exec VP of business development at Arc.

Arc was the animation house for "Gnomeo and Juliet" and has provided vfx for Starz's "Camelot" and Alcon's "Dophin Tale."

The short film has won awards at festivals in Savannah, Palm Springs and Seattle along with the New York Children's Festival.
