LONDON -- Indian thesp Amitabh Bachchan ("Aarakshan"), and Australians Jason Clarke ("Swerve") and Isla Fisher ("Rango") have been added to the cast of Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby," the latest version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel.

Bachchan, who has appeared in more than 180 Indian films, will play the role of Meyer Wolfsheim, a shadowy gambler. Pic toplines Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby and also stars Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton and newcomer Elizabeth Debicki.

The A$120 million ($127 million) budgeted film commenced principal photography this week at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney.

Pic is a Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures production in association with Luhrmann's Bazmark Films shingle. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film in 2D and 3D, with Village Roadshow Pictures distributing in select territories.
