Luna in talks to join 'Elysium'

Cast includes Damon and Foster

EXCLUSIVE: Diego Luna is in talks to join the cast of Neil Blomkamp's "Elysium" which is Sony and MRC co-production.

Blomkamp will write and direct with Bill Block and Simon Kinberg producing.

The pic already stars Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley and Jodie Foster.

Story revolves around aliens and humans doing battle on earth. Luna would play Julio, the best friend of Damon's character.

Production is set to get underway this summer with the film bowing on March 1, 2013.

Luna is best known for his role in "Y Tu Mama Tambien" and can be seen next in Universal's "Contraband."

He is repped by WME and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman.
