Berlin-based A Company Filmproduktionsgesellschaft has signed on as co-producer of the Wachowski siblings and Tom Tykwer's "Cloud Atlas."
The $140 million pic, which is set to start shooting at Studio Babelsberg this summer, has also secured €1.5 million ($2.15 million) from German regional funder Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
A Company will co-produce with Stefan Arndt of Berlin's X Filme Creative Pool, Grant Hill and Anarchos Prods. "Cloud Atlas" marks the first joint project between A Company and X Filme.
Tom Hanks stars in the adaptation of David Mitchell's tome, which is selling internationally via Focus Features Intl.
