Landis
Amid a downtrodden spec market, screenwriter Max Landis has landed a home for his third project in the past half-year.
Scribe has optioned his spec script "Good Time Gang" to Robin Schorr's RCR Pictures, Schorr's production company in partnership with poker star Chris Ferguson.
Described as a cross between "The Bourne Identity" and "Jackass," "Good Time Gang" is an action-comedy about two hard-partying mercenaries forced by the CIA to catch a mercenary-turned-terrorist who turns out to be the father of one of the leads.
Landis will polish the script before RCR goes out to directors, though development is being fast-tracked.
Landis sold his spec script "Chronicle" in August to producer John Davis and his 20th Century Fox-based banner Davis Entertainment. The story is a docu-style account of three Portland teens who develop superpowers after being exposed to a mysterious substance in the woods.
Additionally, Landis has sold another untitled pitch to Davis.
Plot details are being kept under wraps.
Landis, the son of "Blues Brothers" and "Animal House" director John Landis, is repped by WME and Circle of Confusion.
