Alyssa Milano set to ring in 'New Year's Eve'

Actress cast in New Line comedy from Garry Marshall

Alyssa Milano has joined Garry Marshall's romantic comedy "New Year's Eve." Production on the New Line pic starts this week.

Milano will play a nurse caring for an elderly patient who has nobody to spend New Year's Eve with. Gotham-set movie will follow intertwining stories of characters trying to navigate their way through romance on the last night of the year.

Katherine Heigl just replaced Halle Berry in "New Year's Eve." Cast also includes Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Josh Duhamel, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Til Schweiger and Sofia Vergara.

"Valentine's Day" producers Mike Karz and Wayne Rice are producing "New Year's Eve."

Milano will next be seen in the Farrelly Brothers comedy "Hall Pass." She most recently starred in and produced the adaptation of James Patterson's "Sundays at Tiffany's" for Lifetime.

Milano's repped by CAA and Alchemy Entertainment.
