Fox picks up Max Landis' 'Chronicle' script

Josh Trank to direct sci-fi thriller

Twentieth Century Fox has picked up Max Landis' spec script "Chronicle" for Josh Trank to helm in his feature directorial debut.

John Davis and Adam Schroeder will produce.

Sparking interest with its originality, "Chronicle" is a docu-style account of three Portland teens who become exposed to a mysterious substance in the woods and, as a result, develop incredible powers. The teenagers hone their skills for fun, until personal and family problems turn them against one another.

Trank is the son of docu filmmaker Richard Trank, while Landis is the son of director John Landis.

Trank is repped by APA and Magnet; Landis is repped by Circle of Confusion.
