"Breakout Kings," a fugitive chase drama pilot developed for Fox, is looking like it will land soon at A&E Network.
The 20th Century Fox TV/Chernin Entertainment project from scribes Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora had strong buzz during pilot season but didn't get the nod from Fox. The producers' reps began shopping it aggressively, and A&E was a likely candidate from the get-to given its focus on crime procedurals.
Series revolves around a team of federal marshals and the ex-cons who help them track down dangerous fugitives. Olmstead and Santora know the action-thriller territory well from their hitch on "Prison Break."
A&E and 20th are in the midst of negotiating a 13-episode order for the show.
