Horror film specialist Robert Englund has signed to topline Verdi Corrente Prods. "Inkubus," which has started lensing in Rhode Island.

Englund, who starred as the original Freddy Krueger in eight films, heads an ensemble cast that includes William Forsythe, Joey Fatone, Jonathan Silverman, Mike Cerrone and Michelle Ray Smith. Chad A. Verdi and Michael Corrente ("Federal Hill") are producing with Glenn Ciano directing.

"Inkubus," written by Carl Dupre and Ciano, tells the story of a skeleton crew working the final shift at a soon-to-be demolished police station. The night takes a gruesome turn when the demon Inkubus calmly walks into the station holding a severed head and begins to confess a litany of crimes, some dating back to the Middle Ages.
